Description
Parsnip, (species Pastinaca sativa), member of the parsley family (Apiaceae), cultivated since ancient times for its large, tapering, fleshy white root, which is edible and has a distinctive flavour.The parsnip plant has an erect, branched stem with a rosette of leaves that are oblong or triangular in shape and 30–38 cm (12–15 in) in length.
